It does this by using theareas specified by the user in the trimap to keep and extrapolates that information to the gray areas. It uses a variety of kinds of image informationincluding color, intensity, and patternbased processing. It also finishes processing in mere seconds for most images.

ReMask works by analyzing the information in the usercreated trimap and comparing it to the original imageto accurately determine what to keep and what to remove in the image. The trimap serves three purposes to Topaz ReMask:
Step 1: Create TriMap
The only realthing you need to do is create a "trimap" for ReMask. Black stands for areas to remove,
white for areas to keep. ReMask will calculateany areas in gray.
Step 2: Apply ReMask
Apply ReMask and it won’t ask you any other questions. It automatically and immediately creates a
detailed andintricate mask within seconds. The extracted image is immediately ready to use.
Step 3: Instant Extraction
Topaz ReMask refines the trimap into anintricate extraction.
Speed! Topaz ReMask is much faster at extracting even complex subjects than any other method currently
available. This is partlybecause there’s only a small amount of required user input, but mostly
because its technology is so adept at creating masks automatically.
Accuracy! Thehardest subjects for masking tools are those with complex backgrounds, faint edges, and
fine detail like fur or hair. The unique algorithm that TopazReMask uses specialize in extracting
"difficult" subjects without spending all day doing it.
1. White tells Topaz ReMask what tokeep in the image for sure. ReMask then compares these areas with the original image and can accurately determine the nature of the"desired" areas based on many image characteristics.
2. Black tells Topaz ReMask what to remove in the image for sure. ReMask thendetermines the nature of the "undesired" areas using this information.
3. Gray tells Topaz ReMask which parts of the image to process.ReMask extrapolates the data from the white and black parts of the image to figure out the gray parts with a high degree of accuracy.
The resulting maskcan then be easily adjusted or refined using native Photoshop tools or a second pass of Topaz ReMask.
Topaz ReMask flawlessly integrates into a Photoshopworkflow because it doesn’t make a trip
to an external app there isn’t even a new user interface to learn! It works immediately on the layer
